Two weeks at the American Academy in Rome

A highlight was sharing interest in Roman inspirations found in all the arts with other professionals after a day of roaming the streets.

The coming together at family style meals enjoying the food and drink following of the Alice Waters sustainable foods model was a huge treat for all Academy guests.

Amalfi Coast locals

Amalfi Coast… Enjoying the  friendly warm locals on the square each evening was my favorite memory.

Food and drink was perfeto…A treat was  joining  mamma Agata for the day.  The  Amalfi Coast is known for its production of limoncello liqueur as was apparent in my group of friends dinner table each night.

Tokyo commuters were so orderly and quiet even in large crowds… just don’t miss the last call at 12 p.m. sharp even midway in travel or you will have to sleep in a sleep capsule for the night.

Muji rents very cool bikes….smooth ride…the only way.

A treat of a lifetime was to stay at the  Benesee House Museum at Tashimo Island designed by architect Tadao Ando

Favorite was experiencing the works of  photographer  Sugimoto Hiroshi , mounted outside on the Seto Inland Sea.

.. pinch me as I  was in fantasy island  in harmony with the  coexistence of nature, art and architecture.

street eye candy…

back in time, jumping out of a time machine… a Ryokan experience  in Karashiki stayed at Turugata Inn..

Bicycling  may be the solution for keeping the Danes beautiful and fit. Just a bit of a struggle to keep the aggressive NY biker that I am waiting patiently in line for the traffic light to change

Endless summer days.. sunrise at 5:30 a.m. and sunset would catch the locals enjoying a toast with friends at 11:30 pm in city parks.

Museum lovers  go to Aarhus .. the rainbow panorama by Olafur Eliasson is very playful as well as the Icelandic rock room at the North Jutland Art Museum designed by Scandinavian architect Alvar Aalto is certainly worth the journey. Sweet treat for Art jewelry lovers should meet Karl at Gold fingers.
